Front-Lit Channel Letters (Standard / Most Common)
Light comes through the front face.
Materials
Face: Acrylic (colored or translucent vinyl applied).
Side/Return: Aluminum or stainless steel, painted or powder-coated.
Good For
Most modern retail storefront signs.
Front-Lit Channel Letters with Trim Cap
Similar to front-lit but with a visible trim cap.
Materials
Face: Acrylic face secured with a Trim Cap (i.e an aluminum or plastic border that holds the acrylic to the metal returns. It makes face replacements easier).
Side/Return: Aluminium, Stainless Steel.
Good For
Most modern retail storefront signs. Trim cap is ideal for areas that experience harsh weather.
Back Lit / Halo Lit Letters
LED modules placed close to the side panels so light escapes through the returns, creating a glowing outline effect. The face and back are typically opaque.
Materials
Face: Aluminum or stainless steel. Can be acrylic as well.
Side/Return: Translucent acrylic or polycarbonate for light diffusion.
Good For
Ideal for premium and design-focused brands—from tech and creative studios to luxury spas and premium retail stores.
Recessed Back-Lit Channel Letters
A premium signage style where light emits subtly from behind solid letters, creating a refined halo effect. The acrylic is hidden, giving the sign a clean, floating appearance.
Materials
Face: Aluminium or steel (can be powder-coated or painted).
Side/Return: Same as face – aluminium or stainless steel with smooth or brushed finish.
Good For
Luxury brands, spas, high-end retail, corporate offices and hotels. Typically used indoors.
Open Face Channel Letters
A bold, retro-style signage option featuring exposed lighting elements like neon tubes or marquee-style bulbs.
Materials
Face: Typically open—no face cover; lighting elements are fully visible.
Side/Return: Aluminium (painted or powder-coated) to match brand aesthetics.
Good For
Bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, cinemas, vintage-themed stores, or brands seeking a dramatic, eye-catching presence.
Full Acrylic Channel Letters
Fully illuminated face and sides using internal LED modules.
Materials
The entire letter (face, sides, and sometimes back) is made from solid acrylic, with internal LEDs creating an even glow.
Good For
Small to medium-sized signs for indoor signage. They are slightly less durable than Channel Letter with Aluminium / Steel returns
